About The Fellowship Hall

The Fellowship Hall is an independent online magazine for the people who do church ministry with their evenings: volunteer youth leaders, bi-vocational pastors, small group hosts and the parents who end up running the thing nobody else picked up. It publishes practical guides on the working craft of a small congregation, how to build a student ministry, run a Bible study circle that talks, recruit volunteers without guilt, plan events the team can actually carry, and choose tools that remove work instead of adding it.

What the site covers

The library is organized in four sections. Student ministry holds the guides on building a youth ministry from nothing, on the weekly gathering and on raising student leaders. Bible study covers study ideas for teenagers and the craft of small groups. Church life covers the people and calendar machinery, volunteers and events. Ministry resources holds the tools survey and the general resource principles. A short history section rounds out the site with the story of Baptist churches in Wyoming.

How the guides are written

Every guide is written from the operating reality of congregations under two hundred members, where the planner is also the chair-stacker. The articles favor working detail over inspiration: actual sizes for groups, actual screening steps, actual questions that open a circle. They are written to be read once and then used, with internal links that follow a task rather than a taxonomy, so the volunteer guide sends you to the events guide exactly when the load question appears. Nothing here requires a staff, a budget line or a seminary degree.

The name and the room

The site is named for the room where most of the work it describes actually happens. The fellowship hall is where a small church eats together, runs its Wednesday night youth group, stacks its folding chairs and holds its funerals and weddings; it is the most honest room in the building. The editorial voice is the voice of that room: practical, unhurried and free of performance.

This domain's earlier life

fbcworland.org previously served as the website of First Baptist Church of Worland, Wyoming, a congregation that merged with another church in February 2020 to form CrossPoint Baptist Church, which is active today and unrelated to this publication. The Fellowship Hall is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to that congregation, its successor, or any Baptist organization. The full record of the congregation's 114 years, its buildings and its merger, is kept at the FBC Worland history page, published in the same spirit as the rest of the site: accurate memory in place of silence.
